WHERE COACHES GET STUCK
THE TWO GAPS I SEE MOST OFTEN.
The first is a coaching gap. You have coached general clients confidently for years. Then an athlete tells you they want to qualify for Semifinals, race HYROX, or prepare for a specific event, and suddenly you are unsure where to start. You know plenty of training methods. The difficult part is deciding which ones this athlete needs and how they fit together.
The second is the business behind the coaching. You may know the coach you want to become, but your intake, onboarding, pricing, client feedback, and marketing systems are not ready for the clients you want to serve.
The mentorship can address either gap, and most coaches need some work on both.
THE SYSTEM
THE PERFORMANCE COACHING SYSTEM.
Most coaching education teaches you how to assess an athlete. Far less teaches you how to analyze what the athlete's goal actually demands.
Without a clear demands analysis, you can write difficult workouts without knowing whether they are moving the athlete toward the goal.
The same process works across sports and competitive goals. Start by breaking down the demands of the event. Assess the athlete against those demands. Identify the gaps that matter most. Then build the training plan around those priorities.
That process gives every assessment and programming decision a clear target.
WHAT COACHES HAVE BUILT
WHAT TWO COACHES BUILT IN SIX CALLS.
Both of these coaches finished the mentorship this year. Their six calls went in completely different directions, which is the point.
CHARLES CHUNG
Two gyms, 15 years coaching, no contract, manual billing, and priced below the market. In six calls he built a coaching agreement, automated his billing through CoachRX, and collapsed five pricing tiers into one core offer and one down-sell.
"I built my back end and feel set up to take on more clients. The most valuable thing was when Kyle audited my programming. I suffer from imposter syndrome and having my work audited was scary, but his vote of confidence made me realize that I am a capable, knowledgeable coach."
KENNETH GROSJEAN
A gym owner in France with 14 remote clients. His intake was an unstructured conversation, with no link between what he assessed and what the athlete actually wanted. We built a needs analysis, restructured his weekly template, and put heavy structural strength back into a strength-biased athlete.
"My onboarding is more structured and every assessment has a real purpose. Sometimes, I was assessing for assessing. I am also more specific to the goals in my programming because of the need analysis."
ONE EXAMPLE: INTAKE AND ONBOARDING
WALK INTO THE CONSULT AS THE EXPERT.
Most coaches run an intake consult that opens with some version of "tell me about your strengths and weaknesses." The athlete answers, and you are building from their self-assessment.
I have the athlete complete an assessment before that conversation. That allows me to open with, "Here is what I found. Tell me more about these areas." The whole meeting changes. You are the expert from the first minute, and you get into the things that actually help you build a plan instead of collecting opinions.
That is one example of what optimizing intake and onboarding looks like. It is usually where we start, because everything downstream depends on it.
HOW IT WORKS
HOW THE SIX CALLS WORK.
Before the first call, you complete a full coaching audit covering your coaching process, programming, client systems, business, and current gaps. I review the audit before we meet.
During the first call, we identify the areas that will create the greatest return and establish the objectives for the remaining calls. From there, the mentorship is built around your work. There is no fixed syllabus, and most coaches work across some combination of the following three areas.
THE PERFORMANCE COACHING SYSTEM
- Demands analysis for any sport or goal
- The pre-consult athlete assessment
- Intake and onboarding that fit a competitor
- Prioritizing the gaps you find
PROGRAM REVIEW AND EDUCATION
- Live audit of your actual program design
- About 30 minutes of teaching per call
- Topics driven by current research
- Applied straight back into your athletes
BACK-END BUSINESS SYSTEMS
- Contracts, billing, and pricing your work
- Onboarding systems and client feedback loops
- Marketing that does not mean living on Instagram
- Building a funnel system that consistently brings new clients into the business
INSIDE THE MENTORSHIP
70+ HOURS OF REAL MENTORSHIP CALLS.
Mentorship calls are recorded, timestamped, and added to the searchable Mentorship Vault. The Vault currently includes more than 70 hours of calls and continues growing as new mentorship waves are completed.
You can search by coach, topic, or coaching problem, and revisit your own calls whenever you need them. Your recordings remain available for as long as you maintain access to Ruth Performance Collective.
Mentorship also includes full access to Ruth Performance Collective: the weekly calls, Template Library, Progression Library, research reviews, Athlete Case Studies, and the coach community.

ENROLLMENT
FIVE COACHES PER WAVE.
Mentorship is $2,500 for six private calls. Each wave is capped at five coaches so every coach receives individual attention and a development path based on their actual work.
Calls are booked through an automated scheduling system, with every other week as the target cadence. Payment plans are available.
Throughout the mentorship you receive full access to Ruth Performance Collective: the weekly calls, Template Library, Progression Library, research reviews, Athlete Case Studies, and the complete Mentorship Vault. You also receive Loom reviews of your programming when they support the work we are doing.
Collective access continues for 90 days after your final mentorship call. After that, you can continue at the standard Collective rate of $149 per month.
QUESTIONS
HOW ARE CALLS SCHEDULED?
Calls are booked through an automated scheduling system. Every other week is the target cadence, although you can schedule around travel, competitions, and workload. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice when rescheduling.
WHAT ACCESS DO I HAVE AFTER THE MENTORSHIP?
Your development-path document is yours to keep. Full Ruth Performance Collective access continues for 90 days after your final call. Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and access to the Mentorship Vault remain available for as long as you maintain Collective access. After the included 90 days, you can continue for $149 per month.
IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN?
Yes. We cover options on the discovery call.
COLLECTIVE OR MENTORSHIP?
Ruth Performance Collective is the ongoing coaching environment: weekly calls, office hours, research reviews, coaching libraries, and other serious coaches to think with. Mentorship adds six private calls where I work with you to build your systems, review your programming, and apply the Performance Coaching System to your athletes and business.
HOW IS MENTORSHIP DIFFERENT FROM CONSULTING?
Consulting is project-based: a specific question, a defined outcome, billed by the hour. Mentorship is a custom development path, typically completed over approximately 12 weeks, built to change how you coach rather than answer a single question.
I'M NEWER TO COACHING. IS THIS FOR ME?
Most mentees have several years of coaching experience and an active roster. You do not need to coach Games athletes, but you do need real athletes and real coaching work that we can evaluate and apply between calls. The discovery call is where we determine whether the mentorship fits your current stage.
